在七十年代之前，吉隆坡蔬菜批发商同业因缺乏行业团体的组织,各人各自为政，像一盘散沙，一旦遇到吉隆坡市政局有任何不利彼等的措施实行而需要向该局交涉及陈情时，业者只能以私人的身份出席而没有具体的代表赴会，因此成绩往往强差人意,很多课题未能圆满解决。有鉴於此，在1968年时吉隆坡蔬菜批发市场的其中四十五位蔬菜批发商为着凝聚同业们的群体力量，以便为同业们争取利益,毅然成立筹备委员会发起成立公会，在全体委员们的积极努力下，在1969年时注册成功的获得批准，并于同年八月十二日举行成立会员大会，推选出以已故叶国恩先生为会长及二十三位理事成员的理事会，同时也选定每年八月卅一日为本会会庆日。
本会成立的宗旨最主要是要培养会员之间的互助精神，联络彼等之感情，使同业们团结一致，促进商业发展及提升会员的经商知识水平。本会也是会员们与吉隆坡市政局之间的一座桥梁，负责双方面的协调工作。
在全体理事的合作及筹备下，本会于1984年成功的假吉隆坡士拉央批发市场附近（TAMANBATUVIEW）购置一座双层排屋作为本会会所，随着这项计划的落实，也促使本会拥有更大的空间让会员们进行活动及增加彼等的归属感。除了会员们的利益受到重视外，本会对社会的福利及发展方面都时时给以关注，尤其是母语教育方面更是尽力而为，通过每年拨出大批款项回馈社会造福族群。本会目前是雪兰莪中华大会堂会员，雪隆中华工商总会的永久会员，雪隆华人行团总会的理事，同时也是马来西亚菜业联合总会的发起团体之一。
除此之外，本会也对会员的子女们之学术成绩及道德品行给予关注，于1993年开始便已成立会员子女学业优良奖励金，通过每年发出奖励金,鼓励彼等努力向学，并对彼等的优良学术给以肯定及表扬。
1996年本会为进一步加强执行秘书处的服务效率，通过拨出巨大款项添置电脑，传真机，复印机等新科技设备，这不只提升了秘书处的工作效率，也为会员们带来更大的便利。本会的会员人数也由成立时的四十五位增加到目前的199位。与此同时，本会为扩大理事会阵容，通过修改章程授权理事会可委任不超过六位理事成员。同时也成立九个执行小组，包括：常务执行小组，产业管理小组，公市事务小组，资料及网务小组，社团联络小组，会员子女学业优良奖励金小组，公市休业协调小组，福利小组及文娱小组。通过团队的精神，有效的分担日常会务，使会务更有规律及顺畅的进行。与此同时，也能让年轻的理事们亲身参与会务推展及吸取经验，以实际行动有效的进行培养年轻接班人。
1999年那将是本会的另一个里程碑的开始，随着本会成立卅周年的时刻，本会耗资九十余万零吉的新会所也在各理事们积极的筹备下装修完成和启用，随着这次的搬迁本会将拥有更大的空间让会员们进行经商交流及商余联系。本会为着进一步提升会务的发展及会员们营业方针的便利，当今年本会欢庆卅周年纪念及新会所开幕时，本会资讯网页也将正式启用。随着以上各项计划的落实，本会将以全新的姿态搭上资讯发展的列车带领全体同业们昂首向二十一世纪迈进。
Before the 1970s ,when the vegetable wholesalers in Kuala Lumpur, due to lack of trade association organizations ,they were working for their own sake and behaved like a mess,in the event of any adverse measures taken by the Kuala Lumpur Minicipal Council (Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur) and the need to approach the council with unsolved solutions.In view of this ,in 1968 ,45 of the vegetable wholesalers in Kuala Lumpur Vegetable Wholesale Market in order to unite their business community to fight for the interests,they decided to set up a protem committee to set up association with the efforts of all committee members.They registered successfully with the approval of government in 1969.An Annual General Meeting held on 12th August 1969 elected Mr Yap Kok Woon as President and twenty three committee members ,also selected every 31st August wil be anniversary celebration day.
The main purpose of the establishment of this Association is to foster the spirit of mutual aid among members ,to improve the relationship and unity of members,to work for the improvement of business development and upgrade business knowledge of members.This Association also act as bridge between members and Kuala Lumpur Municipal Council for the coordination between both parties.
With the cooperation and preparation of all the members , this Association purchased a two-storey terrace house at Taman Batu View ,near Kuala Lumpur Wholesale Market in 1984 as the building of the Association.With the implementation of this program ,this contribute more room for members to carry out activities and increase their sense of belonging .In addition to members interests emphasized ,this Association will give attention to welfare and social development from time to time,especially in term of mother tongue education allocate a large number of money every year for the benefit of community.This Association is currently life member of Kuala Lumpur & Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall, The Chinese Chamber Of Commerce & Industry Of Kuala Lumpur , Committee Member of The Federation Of Malaysia Chinese Commerce Association and also the founder Association for The Federation Of Vegetable Sellers Associations Malaysia .
In addition ,this Association also pays close attention to the academic achivements and ethical conduct of its members’ children.Since 1993,we have set scholarship award every year for our children to encourage them to study hard .This Association giving them annual reward to their recognition of good academic achivements .
In 1996 ,this Association not only improved the efficiency of the secretariat but also brought greater benefits and convenience to its members by allocating more money to buy new technology equipment such as computer ,fax machine and copier.The number of members of the Association increased from beginning 45 to 199 till now. At the same time , this Association expend the committee by amending the rules of the Association authorized the committee to appoint not more than six committee members .At the same time,this Association also set up nine executive committees including Executive Standing Committee ,Property Management Committee ,Vegetable Wholesasle Market General Affairs Committee,Information And Internet Publication Committee , Society Liaison Committee ,Scholarship Fund Committee ,
Vegetable Wholesale Market Holidays Co-ordination Committee ,Welfare Committee and Culture & Amusement Committee. Through the team spirit effective sharing of daily routine works ,so that the Association affairs can be runned systematic and smoothly .At the same time also allow young committee members to participate in the conference to promote and learn from experience in order to effectively carry out the actual action to train young successors.
In 1999 ,it will be the beginning of another milestone in this Association . With the time of 30 th Anniversary this Association ,more than RM900,000 Association Building will be renovated and to be used under the active preparation by all the committee members.With this relocation ,we will have more space for our members to conduct business exchange and business contact.In order to further promote the development of the business and convenience of our members’ business policies,we will celebrate our anniversary this year and opening ceremony of the new Association Building ,we will also launch an information page on our website.With the implementation of the above programs,we will take the new attitude of information based train to lead all our members forward to the 21 st century.
